Hello Beekeepers! I’m George Wakefield, owner of Beekeeperscorner. I’m a passionate beekeeper who’s worked with several types of honey bees over the years, including Western honey bees, Italian honey bees, and Himalayan honey bees — each with its own personality and its own lessons about colony behavior.

My Story

Over the years I’ve gained hands-on experience managing around 300 beehives, learning everything from hive inspection and colony management to honey extraction and bee health. Those years taught me the practical side of beekeeping that no textbook can fully capture — the kind of knowledge you only get from opening hives, making mistakes, and figuring out what actually works.

In 2023 I moved to Dhaka for work, but beekeeping never left my heart. I now manage a smaller, more personal apiary in Chandpur together with my uncle and cousin. It’s a modest operation compared to what I used to run, but every visit to the hives reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.

I completed my Bachelor of Science (BSc) from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology. Outside of beekeeping and my professional life, I’m a fun-loving person who values time with friends and family.
